Our Mesquite Metroplex Center location lets you work towards a degree while staying close to home. We offer courses at the undergraduate and graduate level for a wide variety of majors. Counseling (MED) Student Affairs Emphasis
Gain employment in the university setting through our student affairs track. A master’s degree in counseling provides the foundation needed to interact with college students on a daily basis.
Counseling (MS) Clinical Mental Health Counseling Emphasis
Our CACREP-accredited clinical mental health counseling track prepares you to serve as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. You'll serve clientele with different mental, emotional and behavioral difficulties as well as couples counseling.
Counseling (MS) School Counseling Emphasis
Our school counseling track prepares you to provide guidance and counseling to students of all ages. You must hold a valid teaching certificate and two years of full-time teaching experience to qualify for this program. When you graduate, you’ll be certified as a Professional School Counselor.
Counselor Education and Supervision (PHD)
The doctoral program in counselor education and supervision includes 69-72 hours of coursework in the classroom and online. This includes field experience, advanced courses, research tools and finally, a dissertation.
Early Childhood Education (BS)
The major in early childhood education prepares graduates for careers in both public and private educational settings in which the primary focus is young children.
Education (BA/BS) Bilingual or ESL Emphasis (Grade EC-6)
Develop in-depth understanding of multicultural learning environments and learn to meet the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse students with our interdisciplinary studies bachelor's degree program. If you seek to become a bilingual teacher, who provides instruction in both Spanish and English, this program requires Spanish literacy. If you seek to become an ESL teacher, who provides instruction in English, you do not need foreign language literacy.

Our bachelor's degree with middle school certification offers a number of specialties, allowing you to concentrate on specific interests. Learn to design engaging lessons, develop curriculum for diverse students and foster an inclusive learning environment.
Educational Diagnostician Professional Certification
Mathematics (MS)
The graduate program in mathematics prepares you for employment as an educator on various levels, additional study at the doctoral level or one of the many non-academic areas in which mathematicians work. Graduate work in mathematics leading to the master’s degree is offered with an emphasis in actuarial science, algebra, analysis, biological mathematics, combinatorics, coding theory, differential equations, differential geometry, image analysis and processing, or probability-statistics.

This program includes specific training in diagnosis and intervention strategies for individuals with special needs.

Special Education (MS) with Teacher Certification
Exceptional learners need your support and advocacy. You can make this happen through our Special Education program along with the 18 hours of alternative teacher certification
Specialist in School Psychology (SSP)
Supervision, Curriculum and Instruction (Ed.D.)
This degree prepares graduate students for careers in K-12 public and private schools, regional educational training facilities, college and university settings, and research and development centers. A graduate with the Doctor of Education degree should possess competencies in research methods, statistics, curriculum, instructional design, learning, instructional strategies and effective teaching.

Our facility
Enhance your education at our new campus in Mesquite. Our facility offers a library, computer lab, student lounge areas, study spaces and nine classrooms. You’ll also have access to our online library database which stores thousands of journals, books and articles.

Does the Mesquite Metroplex Center have free wifi?
A&M-Commerce provides free wireless internet access to all students and faculty. When you power on your laptop, smartphone or tablet, select TAMUC from your list of available networks. You will enter your CWID and password when you open your browser (Example CWID: student/12345678, Password:123abc. If you have trouble logging in, contact the IT Helpdesk at 903-468-6000.
How do I get a Lion Card at the Mesquite Metroplex Center?
You can get a Lion Card at the Mesquite Metroplex office or at the Lion Card Office at the Commerce campus. You may add cash to your account in Mesquite at any time the site is open.
